Dental bonding is one of the most common cosmetic dental procedures around. It's used to correct a wide variety of tooth problems, such as cracks, decay, gaps, discoloration and chips. In fact, almost all minor dental problems can be at least helped by dental bonding.
So what is dental bonding? It's a tooth-colored resin which is applied to your teeth. It's analogous to putty. The resin is applied to your teeth - filling in gaps, covering up cracks, etc. - and then the resin is hardened with a special light.
Unlike most other cosmetic dental procedures, bonding does not require that a mold first be made. Bonding is typically done in just one office visit. It's painless, quick and relatively inexpensive.
Bonding is best suited for small cosmetic changes.
